Protecting the land. Strengthening our community. Inspiring future generations.
For nearly 50 years, the Land Trust of Napa County has safeguarded the landscapes that define our region — forever.
We work hand in hand with landowners, partners, and our community to care for the natural and agricultural heritage of this extraordinary place. Together, we ensure the future of working farmlands, native habitats, wildlife and migration corridors, scenic vistas, rare natural resources, forests, and the watersheds that sustain life in Napa County.
Through strategic, thoughtfully prioritized projects, we are creating a connected network of protected lands that supports clean water, thriving wildlife, healthy habitats, climate resilience, and the enduring beauty of Napa for generations to come.
On the lands we own, we actively steward ecological health—restoring native species, reducing wildfire risk, strengthening wildlife corridors, and revitalizing streams and forests—so this remarkable landscape can flourish today and long into the future.

Why It Matters
Protecting land means protecting clean water, wildlife habitat, biodiversity, agricultural heritage, carbon storage, scenic beauty, and the places where people find peace and connection.
Our work ensures that Napa’s landscapes remain vibrant, resilient, and accessible — now and for generations to come.
Protecting land protects everything that depends on it — including us.
Stewardship: Caring for the Land We Protect
Our stewardship team works year-round to maintain ecological health across thousands of acres. This includes habitat restoration, fuels reduction, forest health projects, invasive species removal, wildlife monitoring, trail maintenance, and community workdays.
Conservation is forever — and so is our commitment.

People & Community Impact
Connecting People to the Land
Our work doesn’t end with protecting land — it grows when people experience it. Each year, hundreds of community members join us on the land to explore, learn, and care for Napa’s extraordinary natural landscapes.
