About
the hike
Explore the remote and less-visited side of the Oat Hill Mine Trail, which partially follows an old stagecoach route. On this moderate out-and-back hike, we’ll see wild-looking geologic formations and old freight-wagon tracks carved into solid rock. We’ll have lunch at Holm’s Place near the Palisades, where remains of stone buildings and an apple orchard from 1900 can still be seen. High clearance vehicles are recommended to get to the trailhead.

Registration
All Field trip registrations close three (3) days prior to the event date. An adult must accompany all minors under 18 and complete a minor waiver in person.
Note that we require all attendees to sign a participation waiver in person at the start of the event. Please arrive a few minutes early to complete this step.
