Land Trust of Napa County is an Accredited land trust, a distinction that recognizes our commitment to the highest standards in land conservation, financial accountability, and ethical practices. This accreditation signifies that we meet rigorous national quality standards for protecting and stewarding the lands entrusted to us – forever.
Land Trust is pleased to announce we have been awarded renewal of our national accreditation through the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.
As an Accredited Land Trust, we uphold strong legal and financial foundations, ensuring that every acre we conserve remains protected for future generations. This mark of excellence reflects our dedication to transparency, integrity, and lasting conservation impact.
We completed the extensive review required for this process and were first awarded accreditation in 2013. To maintain accredited status, all land trusts must re-apply every five years.
“The Land Trust of Napa County applied for renewal of our accreditation to ensure that our work continues to meet the highest standards and employ the latest best practices, all aimed at ensuring that our conservation efforts will be truly lasting over the long-term.” said Doug Parker, CEO.
The Land Trust Accreditation Commission is an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance. It conducts an extensive review of land trust policies and programs. The accreditation seal is a mark of distinction in land conservation. It is awarded to land trusts meeting the highest national standards for excellence and conservation permanence. Each accredited land trust completes a rigorous review process and joins a network of organizations united by strong ethical practices. This trusted network of land trusts has demonstrated fiscal accountability, strong organizational leadership, sound transactions and lasting stewardship of the lands they conserve.
