As the golden light of late autumn settles over Napa, we find ourselves reflecting on what matters: our land, our community, and our future. Because of your steadfast support, the Land Trust continues to protect and restore some of Napa’s most beloved and ecologically important places.

Your support helped us achieve landmark accomplishments this year. For example:
Expanding Moore Creek Park
This year, in partnership with the Napa Open Space District, we protected 523 acres of land adjacent to Moore Creek Park, expanding the park to over 2,100 acres.
This was the final property needed to protect the entire length of Moore Creek and establish an unbroken corridor for wildlife, connecting the 1,100 acres we protected at Pacific Union College in Angwin to Lake Hennessey, now almost 10,000 contiguous acres of permanently protected land. It’s an extraordinary example of what conservation partnerships can achieve.

Restoring a Rare Serpentine Prairie at Missimer
Also, this year, we partnered with CAL FIRE to conduct a prescribed burn on our Missimer Wildflower Preserve in Snell Valley. This globally rare serpentine prairie habitat supports over 290 native plants, including several very rare wildflower species.
This controlled burn not only reduced wildfire risk and invasive grasses but also paved the way for vibrant spring wildflower blooms and greater resilience for these rare and threatened species
