Calistoga to Wildlake

Feb 16: Calistoga to Wildlake

Leaders: Elaine de Man & Rodney Ready
Rating: Very strenuous, 12 miles, 1-2k ft elevation gain

Vigorous hikers will enjoy this challenging hike up, down, and across the ridges between Calistoga and Angwin, a distance of approximately eight to nine miles. This is a strenuous all-day hike along often steep and numerous stretches of open terrain to go with expansive views into Pope and Napa Valleys. Beginning in Calistoga at the historic Oat Hill Mine trailhead, the Preserve at Wildlake makes for a very pleasant end to the day’s journey. Be prepared with plenty of water, lunch, sun protection and sturdy hiking boots. Hiking poles are always a good idea.
