Missimer Wildflowers Walk
April 13: Missimer Wildflowers Walk
Leader: Chip Bouril; Guide: Jake Ruygt
Rating: Easy, 1 mile, < 1k ft elevation gain
Our Missimer Preserve in Snell Valley is known for its species diversity, serpentine meadow habitat, and impressive spring wildflower displays. Bay Area botanists have long recognized this meadow as a gem of the regional flora of the North Coast Ranges. Highlight species include Delphiniums, cream sacs, and Ithuriel’s spear. After exploring the main meadow, we’ll have lunch next to a small creek, then explore the nearby woodland and chaparral habitats.
