Grateful Dead Peak

April 20: Grateful Dead Peak (camping optional)*

Leader: Cathy Koehler
Rating: Strenuous, 3 miles, < 1k ft elevation gain

This hike takes place in Lake County at a beautiful location that few people ever visit. The loop begins at the McLaughlin Reserve where we hike down the slopes overlooking Hole Creek and across to the rock outcropping that we affectionately call Grateful Dead for spectacular views, then loop back to the start. Be prepared for a steep ascent to the top of the rock, with possible loose scree slopes.

*April 20: Optional Overnight Campout at McLaughlin
