ATP Cascades Hike

May 22: ATP Cascades Hike

Leaders: Greg Matsumoto & Rodney Ready
Rating: Moderate, 2 miles, 1-2k ft elevation gain

The Cascades trail is a short and moderate level hike next to a shaded creek that accommodates many hikers and families. We’ll start in the redwood picnic area, hop rocks across a creek, and then we’ll explore the trails. When we reach our destination, we’ll see many very large boulders with water cascading over or falling between them. We’ll snack there while enjoying the view. The hike back will follow redwoods along the creek and should conclude around lunchtime. Please pack water, snacks and lunch.

Although the hike is of moderate difficulty, hiking shoes with good soles are required due to some steep ascents and descents along the trail. Hiking poles will be of great help for the descent and to cross the creek.
