John served as the Executive Director of the Land Trust of Napa County since 1988 and has now transitioned to Senior Director for Land Protection where he focuses on land saving and land stewardship. John began his land conservation career as Oregon Land Steward for The Nature Conservancy and served as Director of Development for Greenbelt Alliance. He was the first Administrative Director of the Tropical Resources Institute, Yale School of Forestry. John is a former board member and corporate secretary of the Strong Foundation for Environmental Values and is a current board member of the Pacific Crest Trail Association. John has served on the editorial board of the Land Trust Alliance and is a frequent speaker on land trust issues at national and regional conferences.
