Wildlake Duff
The 4,165 acre Dunn-Wildlake and Duff Ranches are located near Angwin in the heart of the Howell Mountains at the northern end of the Napa Valley. It is a dramatic swath of permanently protected land that spans the eastern horizon – over 15 miles of protected landscape beginning at the summit of Mt. St. Helena and stretching nearly to the town of Angwin. Elevations range from 600 feet to 2,800 feet.
The higher elevation promontories provide unparalleled views of the Napa Valley and Mt. St. Helena to the north, Mt. Tamalpais to the west, Mt. Diablo to the south and the Sierra Nevada to the east on a clear day. Looking up from the Napa Valley, Wildlake Duff presents the longest “mansion free” viewshed on any of the surrounding ranges in the Valley.
The Land Trust acquired Dunn-Wildlake and Duff Ranches for $25 million through our “Napa Valley Wild” capital campaign. The Preserves are used as part of the Land Trust’s hiking and field trips program that includes overnight camping opportunities. For more information, visit our “Hiking” page on this Web site.
Access to the Preserve is by permission only and through Land Trust guided hikes. Please contact the Land Trust at 707-252-3270 for access information.
